As a subject matter expert in the field of food and nutrition, I can provide you with information regarding the vegan status of Lindt Extra Dark chocolate.
Lindt Extra Dark chocolate, like many other chocolate products, is made from cocoa beans, sugar, and cocoa butter. However, the vegan status of a chocolate product is not solely determined by its primary ingredients but also by any additional ingredients and the manufacturing processes used.
Chocolate can sometimes contain non-vegan ingredients such as milk powder, whey powder, or even animal-derived emulsifiers like lecithin (derived from soy or eggs). Additionally, even if a chocolate bar is made without animal ingredients, it may not be considered vegan if it is produced on equipment that also processes dairy or other animal products, leading to potential cross-contamination.
To determine if Lindt Extra Dark chocolate is vegan, one would need to check the ingredient list for any non-vegan components and inquire with the manufacturer about their production practices to ensure there is no cross-contamination with non-vegan products.
As of my last update, I do not have the specific information on the current ingredients and production practices for Lindt Extra Dark chocolate. Therefore, I recommend checking the packaging for a list of ingredients and looking for a vegan certification, which would be a reliable indicator of its vegan status. If in doubt, contacting Lindt's customer service directly would provide the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Lindt uses skim milk, whole milk powder, and other dairy ingredients in many of our chocolate products. While our white and milk chocolate products contain the most, our 70%, 85%, 90% and 99% bars do not have milk products in them. All Lindt manufacturing facilities process milk, dark, and white chocolate products.
