Hello, I'm an expert in the field of food science and safety. Let's dive into your question about gummy bears.
Gummy bears, like most candies, do not spoil in the traditional sense because they have a low moisture content which inhibits the growth of bacteria and mold. However, they can still deteriorate over time. The sugar in gummy bears can crystallize, which is known as "sugar bloom," and the texture can become hard and less chewy. Additionally, exposure to heat and humidity can also affect their quality.
If gummy bears are stored in a cool, dry place and are not exposed to direct sunlight, they can last for a very long time, sometimes even a year or more. But after this period, even if they are not technically "bad," they may not taste as good as when they were fresh.
It's also important to note that while gummy bears may not go bad in the sense of becoming unsafe to eat, they can still be a source of unwanted calories and added sugars in your diet, so moderation is key.

They do, but because this a gel gummy type food, the expiration date is a year away or more. Even if you hit the expiration date, I'm sure the gummies would just be harder to chew or slightly stale and not actually rotten or bad.
