As a food science expert with a focus on ingredient analysis, I can tell you that Oreo cookies do contain chocolate in their composition. The primary chocolate component in Oreos is found in the "stuf", which is the cream filling that lies between the two chocolate cookie wafers. The cream filling is made from sugar, vegetable oils (like palm and/or canola oil), cocoa, high fructose corn syrup, and various other ingredients that contribute to its flavor and texture.
The cookies themselves are made from a dough that includes unsweetened chocolate, which contributes to the dark color and chocolatey flavor of the cookies. However, it's important to note that the amount of actual chocolate in Oreos is relatively small compared to the total volume of the cookie, as the primary ingredients are flour, sugar, and oil.

One would think that Nabisco adds some type of color to an Oreo to make it so black. ... There is no color on the ingredient list. It must come from the cocoa and chocolate (the Canadian version actually only contains cocoa, no chocolate). But as far as I can tell, no amount of cocoa will produce such a dark cookie.
