Hello, I'm an expert in the field of human anatomy and physiology. Let's dive into the question of whether the nose can get bigger.
Yes, the nose can change in size and shape over time due to various factors. Here are a few reasons why this might happen:
1. Growth: As a person ages, the nose can grow, particularly during puberty. This is a natural part of the body's development.
2. Injury: An injury to the nose can cause swelling or even alter the shape of the nose if the bones are broken and heal improperly.
3. Surgery: Rhinoplasty, or nose surgery, can be performed to change the size or shape of the nose, either for cosmetic reasons or to correct a medical issue.
4. Illness: Certain medical conditions, like rhinitis or sinus infections, can cause temporary swelling of the nasal tissues.
5. Heredity: Genetic factors can influence the size and shape of the nose, and these traits can become more pronounced as a person matures.
6. Weight Gain: Gaining weight can sometimes cause the fatty tissue around the nose to increase, giving the appearance of a larger nose.
7.
Excessive Sun Exposure: Prolonged exposure to the sun can cause the skin to lose elasticity, which may contribute to the nose appearing larger over time.
It's important to note that while the nose can change in size, these changes are generally gradual and may not be noticeable to others unless significant.

If that's true, how come the older you get, the bigger your nose and ears seem to be? ... But cartilage - that's the plastic-like stuff in ears and noses - cartilage continues to grow until the day you die. Not only does cartilage grow, but the earlobes elongate from gravity. And that makes ears look even larger.
