My Grandmother (from Yourkshire) would always say 'Oh Aye', meaning 'Oh yes' to a question. I would think 'Aye Maties' a common enough phrase on Talk Like a Pirate day. ... 'Aye Aye Capatain' sounds much better than 'Affirmative Captain' if you ask me, and maintains a long naval tradition, but also has further meaning.
