If you think of only molecular weight then obviously CO2 outweighs H2O,but water has a much much higher mass per unit volume (density ) due to its extensive Hydrogen bonding ( Hydrogen bond) also dipolar attractive forces. ... So if you compare CO2 and water of same volume water would be heavier.
